Esther M. Wells, 70, of 900 N. Lincoln St., Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 1990, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Aug. 21, 1920, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Charles Wesley and Mary Etta Shumaker Gholson. She married Robert W. Boecker Sept. 12, 1942. On Oct. 27, 1966, she married Harold Wells at the Greenmound Church west of Trenton.
She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was a member of the Philo Bee Club.
Surviving are her husband, Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Mrs. Diana (Thomas) Wolfe, Burlington; two sons, Dennis Boecker, Filoah Spring, Ark., and Donald Boecker, Winfield; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Kathy (Ronald) Watts of Burlington; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
The service for Mrs. Wells will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield with the Rev. Ralph Draper officiating. Burial will be in the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Heart or Diabetes associations have been established.
