Frank F. Hunter

Frank F. Hunter, 72, Rome, died Wednesday, March 19, 1980, at 10:46 a.m. at the Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mt. Pleasant, where he had been a resident the past three weeks.

Mr. Hunter was born Dec. 22, 1907 at Winfield, the son of Bert and Mattie Shaffer Hunter. On Sept. 15, 1978 he was united in marriage to Margaret Sammons Christner at Canton, Mo.

He was a retired building contractor in Mt. Pleasant.

Surviving are his wife; two daughter by a former marriage, Betty Starr of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Forrest (Wilma) VanOsdol of Burlington; eight stepchildren, Mrs. Howard (Evelyn) Talbot of West Burlington, Mrs. Marie Delzell of Morning sun, Ben Christner of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Mel (Ludica) Cox of Brighton, Mrs. Joan Newman of Mt. Pleasant, Edward Christner of Wayland. and Mrs. Robert (Mae) Meth of Mt. Pleasant; his stepmother, Mrs. Opal Hunter of Winfield; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Carlson and Mrs. Mildred McCreight, both of Winfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, on Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m., the pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Dan Whitcher, will officiate. Interment will be in Winfield Scott-Township Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Beatty Funeral Home. A memorial has been established for the Calvary Baptist Church.
