Virgil D. Aldrich

Virgil Dale Aldrich, 63, Wayland, died at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1977, at noon.

He was born Dec. 1, 1913, at Winfield, the son of Russell and Lecta Gilbert Aldrich.

He had been a member of the Wayland community since 1928. He operated a tavern in Wayland.

On Oct. 15, 1940, he was married to Freda Christner at Canton, Mo.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Bushek, Davenport, three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. John (Ruby) Martin, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. George (Ruth) Haushahan, Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at the Wayland United Methodist Church on Friday, Oct. 14 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Nancy Schultz and the Rev. Joe Ricks officiating.

Interment will be in North Hill Cemetery at Wayland.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct 13, at the Beatty-Jennings Funeral Home in Wayland.

A memorial fund has been established for the Wayland United Methodist Church and the North Hill Cemetery.
