Marvin Leo Mills

Marvin Leo Mills, 61, Salem; died Thursday, Dec. 6, 1990, at 2:05 a.m. at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1928, near Salem, the son of Chester and Leora Riley Mills. On May 16, 1953, in Yuma, Ariz., he married Dorothy Higdon.

He was the former owner of the Mill's Texaco Station, Mt. Pleasant, and former service manager at Montgomery Ward, Mt. Pleasant. He is the present owner of Mills Service Company, Salem.

He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Salem Friends Church.

Survivors include his wife; father, Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Rhonda) Woodsmall, New London; three brothers, Jerry Mills, rural Mt. Pleasant; Gene Mills, Middletown, and R. Dean Mills, Columbia, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Salem Friends Church, with the Rev. Wayne Stephens, pastor. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established to the Salem Friends Church.
