=================================================================================================
Mrs. Charles Gabbert, who died suddenly this week, was one of those mothers whom we could vision as being the mother of the year, or a house mother at a children's home or for a fraternity in a college. She was always gracious and kind. She always lived for her church, through good and difficult years at the local Church of Christ she was ever a worker and willing to devote her time and worldly goods for its welfare. We understand at the Ramsey home in Des Moines she was very happy in the last two years, she continued her church work. Women in Burlington provided yarn which she made into garments for children. We knew her well for 30 years. Our first acquaintance with her was when her father, James Hobbs died. His was the first obituary we wrote in New London. She had a rich and long life.
