OBITUARY
ANSWERED ROLL CALLTim Ogg, A Good Soldier and Member of the 4th Iowa Cavalry Answered the Last Roll Call Monday Evening.
When the 4th Iowa Cavalry held their reunion last September many comrades of Mr. E. F. Ogg -- "Tim" as they used to call him -- were pained to see his miserable state of health, and felt that his days were numbered among them. The end came Monday night at the home of his friend, Mr. James Fairchild, where he had made his home for several months. His wife and children all preceded him, to the long rest.
Mr. Ogg enlisted in Oct. 1863 and joined D company of the 4th Iowa Cavalry. He served until the end of the war and was mustered out with his company. He was wounded in action April 16, 1865 at Columbus, Ga.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon and was in charge of the G.A.R. Post.
