Zuleika Louise (Zeke) Schenk, age 87, Winfield, died Tuesday evening July 17, 2001 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Wifield.
The daughter of Benjamin F. and Myrtle I. (Hupp) Babcock, she was born July 20, 1913, at Winfield. On July 30, 1931 she married Gilbert Lou Schenk at Winfield. He died January 2, 1967. She was a 1931 graduate of the Winfild High School.
She was a homemaker and care giver and worked as a bookkeeper for her son-in-law Benny Buffington at Fleagle Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of the Winfield Church of the Open Bible
Survivors include one son Benjamin Charles Schenk and one daughter, Juanita Buffington, both of Windield, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preced in death by her parents, husband, one daughter JoAnne, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday July 20, 2001 at 10 A.M. from the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with Rev. Greg Carr officiating. Interment followed at the Winfield Scott Township Cemetery. Music was proviided by Irene Hesseltime, organist and Debbie Carr, Vocalist. Casket bearers were Paul Babcock, Alan Buffington, C.J. Dedic and Den Dedic.
Friends called Thursday from 10 A.M. until 7 P.M. at the Honts Funeral Home. There was no family visitation.
A memorial has been established for the Winfield Open Bible Church.
