FUNERAL SERVICES FOR W. D. STONER

Funeral services for William David Stoner were held at the Olds Congregational church on Saturday forenoon, November 6th, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. A. H. Boettcher of Olds officiating.

Special quartet music was provided by Mr. Arch Huston, Mrs. J. H. Huston, John H. Huston and Basil E. Huston, accompanied by Miss Leona Gabrielson.

The pall bearers were: W. H. DeWitt, E. A. Peterson, Marion Anderson, D. L. Garrick, John Boshart, R. E. Gorham.

Interment was at the cemetery at Kirkwood, Illinois, at 2.:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

William David Stoner was born at Green Springs, Pennsylvania, on February 12, 1871. He came to Illinois when a young man. He was married to Naomi Jones of Kirkwood, Illinois, on December 28, 1899.

He engaged in farming until he moved to Olds. On moving to Olds he engaged in the restaurant business, and continued in that business for nine years.

He attended the Olds Congregational church and served as custodian of that institution for a while.

His health failed in June of this last year, but he rallied some from his illness. About three weeks ago he began to fail rapidly and he passed away at 5:43 a.m. on Thursday, November 4th. His age at the time of his decease was 66 years, 8 months and 23 days. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Harlan Timmins of Yarmouth, Mrs. Carlton White of Crawfordsville and Harold Robert of Olds. One son and his wife preceded him in death. He is also survived by one grandson, Ronald White; by two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Swords and Mrs. Cora Holmes, both of Columbus, Ohio; and by one step brother, Mr. D. E. Barrick of Morning Sun, Iowa.
