ROY JUNIOR HONTS
Roy Junior Honts, 50,Fort Madison, Rt. 1 was killed Thursday morning, February 24, 1978 in and accident with a truck which occured on icy US 62 north of the Iowa 404 junction.
The truck skidded on ice, jackknifed and the car went right under the trailer. The top of the hardtop auto Honts was driving was sheared off. Also killed was Arthur E. Wachutaka. Another passenger, Kenneth Joe McCleland was sciously injured. Driver of the truck was unhurt.
The son of Roy and Myrtle Bennett Honts, he was born January 28, 1928 at Washington Court House, Ohio.
He was a consruction worker and member of Local 212 Iron Workers Union. He served in the the Army during the Korean conflict.
Surviving are one daughter Kimberly Michelle Honts of Washington, Iowa, his father of Davenport and two sisters Mrs Dorothy House and Mrs Janet Gobble of Burlington.
He was preceded by his mother and two sisters, Georgia and Ss
Sharon.
Serviices were held at 10 A.M. Saturday February 25, at the Barton McKasson Funeral Home
Interment in Winfield Scott Cemetery, Winfield, Iowa with Military rites by American Legion post 643 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5143
