Charles Schwartz Funeral Is Held Here on Sunday
Had Lived Here All His Life; Dies At Age of 60 Years.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Winfield Presbyterian church for Charles Schwartz, 60, who passed away last Thursday evening at his home in the east part of Winfield.
The Rev. C.E. Chandler officated at the services, with the Winfield post of the American Legion conducting the militay rites.
Mayne Courter was soloist, and was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Junior Rickey.
Pall bearers were E. R. Logan, John Steffins, Joe Fleagle, Dal Fleagle, Howard Greene and John Perrenound. Barton Funeral service was in charge.
Burial was in the Winfield Scott township cemetery.
Charles Clifton Schwartz son of Konarad and Carrie (Hansen) Schwartz was born May 23, 1890. He had been a life long resident of Winfield. He was born on the farm at which he died.
On October 3, 1917, he was united in marriage to Laura A. Craig of Mount Pleasant. He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge and the American Legion post of Winfield, having served in World War I,
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. E. Sears of Burlington; one son, Walter F. Schwartz of Winfield; five granddaughters, one sister , Mrs Fred Mona of Clinton and one brother, Dr. Harry W. Schwartz of Burlington. Both his parents, one sister and one brother preceded him in death
