Mrs. G. L. Rainey, 76, passed away suddenly at her home at 203 East Warren Street about 1:00 Tuesday morning. Florence Elizabeth Rainey, daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Nancy Jane (Ford) Tucker was born June 10, 1876 near New London. For 32 years she lived just north of Big Creek on the Oakland road. Two and one/half years ago, she moved to Mt. Pleasant. Her husband, G.L. "Pete" Rainey prededed her in death in 1918.

She is survived by one daughter, Cora, at home, one brother, Ben Tucker of south of New London, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Denny of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. at the Crane Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Mt. Pleasant.
