Edith Mae Edwards Widmer, 74, Deep River, died Saturday evening, July 13, 1985, at the Senior Home in Montezuma. She was born December 9, 1910 at Wayland, the daughter of Fred and Jessie Carpenter Edwards. She attended school at Wayland and on September 7, 1929, she was united in marriage to William R. Widmer at Wayland.

They lived in Winfield and Wayland area until moving to Deep River in 1956. For the past 28 years, Mrs. Widmer had operated the Home Town Cafe in Deep River. She was a member of the United Church in Deep River.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert and Rex, both of Montezuma; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her mother, Wayland; one sister, Ethel Hanze, Brighton; and two brothers, Raymond, Millersburg and Derald of Wayland.

Her fahter, one son, Richard, and one grandson preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16, at the United Church at Deep River. Interment was at Goldenrod Cemetery with arrangemenhts by the Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma.
