Carrie Edgington
Carrie Edgington, 88, of Hillsboro, died at 11:23 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at New London Care Center in New London.
Born April 30, 1910, in Memphis, Mo., she was the daughter of John and Addie Lucas McDaniel. On Aug. 18, 1925, she married Cecil B. Edgington. He died March 4, 1980.
Mrs. Edgington was a homemaker, living in West Point and moving to Hillsboro in 1972.
Survivors include six daughters, Crystal Joy Woodall of Salem, Noma Kramer and Wilma Smith, both of West Point, Marcelena Patton of DeSota, Mo., Shirley Yurth of Lincoln, Neb., and Cheryl Duncan of Mountain View, Mo.; two sons, Harley Edgington of Burlington and Cecil W. Edgington of Fort Madison; 33 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy McDaniel of Memphis, Mo., and Charles McDaniel of Hillsboro.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 12 brothers and sisters, two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Edgington will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New London United Methodist Church in New London, with the Rev. Ray C. Howland officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.
A memorial has been established for Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Department
