Our departed sister was born in Wayne County, Indiana, January 5, 1834, and departed this life April 28, 1921, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, 23 days. She moved with her parents to this state at the age of seven years, and has spent the last 80 years in this vicinity. She united with the Methodist Protestant church some thirty years ago. On October 6th 1867, she was married to her beloved husband, who passed to his bright reward July 10, 1870. Besides her husband, one child preceded her to those mansions fair. Two children, Geo. W. Nugen and Nancy Hanson, both of New London mourn the loss of this good Christian mother; they were at the bedside of their mother when the end came. She leaves a multitude of friends , who mourn with these dear ones, the loss of this good woman.

Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ, Saturday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the pasto, Rev. Quinten V. Williamson, assisted by Rev. Sparny, of the Protestant church.
