Neva Riley
Neva Riley, 89, of Mount Pleasant died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.Born Jan. 13, 1919, in Uniontown, Kan., she was the daughter of Howard and Glessie Molsbee Wobbe. On Jan. 9, 1937, she married George A. Riley in Hillsboro. He died Dec. 6, 1985.
Mrs. Riley worked as a cook at Pleasant Lawn School for 34 years. She was a 1936 graduate of Pleasant Lawn High School. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include, two daughters, Peggy Hays and Phyllis McGohan, both of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Terry Riley of Mount Pleasant and Ronald Riley of Grinnell; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Irene Kreiger of Mount Pleasant; and two nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Riley will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Milo Van Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Congregational Church of Mount Pleasant.
