Lucile Wolfe

Lucile R. Wolfe, 85, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Germanville, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Feb. 27, 1922, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Irven and Ethel Messenger Stortz. On June 24, 1945, she married John H. Wolfe in Germanville. He died in 2004.

Mrs. Wolfe taught in country schools and helped her husband farm until their retirement in 1999. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and reading.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Kaufman of Fairfield, and Joan Wolfe and Nancy Wolfe both of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Wolfe will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Hope Lutheran Church.
