Lester Robert Hamilton

NEW LONDON - Lester Robert Hamilton, 71 , New London area farmer and 12 year member of the Des Moines County Board of Supervisors died at Klein Memorial Hospital, Burlington, at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, July 22.

He was born Sept. 10, 1919, at Mt. Union, to Harry and Clara Robertson Hamilton. He married Valda Hammond Jan. 4, 1936, at Mediapolis.

Mr. Hamilton was Pleasant Grove Township trustee for ten years and a director of the New London Co-op for six years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving: The wife; three sons, Robert, Montezuma, Merlin, Danville, and Kerry, New London; daughter, Kay Overstreet, Duncanville, Texas; brother, William Hamilton, Winfield; sister, Dorothy Ralston, Newton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
