Dorothy M. Cain, 87, of Marshalltown, formerly of Iowa City, Mount Pleasant, Winfield and Wapello, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, from injuries received in a automobile accident near Ladora. Her daughter, Judy K. Stromer, died in the same accident.

Born May 15, 1920, in Carroll County, Mo., she was the daughter of Charles and Iva M. Kelly McBee. On June 22, 1943, she married Ralph Cain.

Mrs. Cain had lived with her daughter for some time. She and her husband lived in Mount Pleasant, Winfield and Wapello areas for a number of years. Her greatest joy was raising animals.

Survivors include her husband; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The joint memorial service for Mrs. Cain and Ms. Stromer will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.

A memorial has been established.
