Judy Stromer
Judy Kay Stromer, 60, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Iowa City, Wapello and Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, May 26, 2007, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Ladora. Her mother, Dorothy Cain, died in the same accident.

Born Jan. 13, 1947, in Muscatine, she was the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy McBee Cain.

Prior to moving to Albuquerque in 2004, Miss Stromer worked for Pearson NCS in Iowa City and the University of Iowa in Central Mail System. She was in the process of moving back to Iowa City at the time of her accident. She received her bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Iowa.

Survivors include four daughters, Amy Kurz of Hammond, Ind., Kelly Nolan of Iowa City, Tricia Al-Yasiri of Iowa City and Kristi Cummings of Jonesborough, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and her father, Ralph Cain of Marshalltown.

A joint memorial service for Miss Stromer and Mrs. Cain will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.

A memorial has been established.
