Dr. F.R. North

WINFIELD - Dr. F.R. North, 86, Winfield, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday in Muscatine hospital where he had been a patient three weeks.

Dr. North was born Aug. 7, 1873, at New London, the son of John T. and Marie Louisa Smith North, and was married June 6, 1906, to Stella Schenk, in Winfield. She died April 6, 1954.

He attended schools at New London and Winfield , and Howe's academy, Mt. Pleasant. On June 10, 1904, he graduated from Keokuk Medical college and did post-graduate work at Cook County hospital, Chicago.

Dr. North practiced medicine at Mt. Union, Mediapolis and Packwood. He went to Winfield on Sept. 10, 1922.

He was a member of the Henry County Medical Assn., and the Winfield Masonic lodge.

Survivng are a daughter, Mrs Charlotte Grover, Muscatine, two granddaughters, and a brother, Fred of Winfield.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Winfield Methodist church with Rev. David Barker officiating. Burial will be in Winfield - Scott township cemetery. The body is at the barton-McKasson funeral home, Winfield.
