Services Held for Edward Honts, 80
Services were held Saturday at two at the Barton McKasson Funeral Home for Edward Honts, 80 who died Thursday at University Hospital at Iowa City where he had been a patient for three weeks.
The Rev. Chester Potts, pastor of the Open Bible Church officiated. Burial was in the Winfield Scott Township cemetery. Pallbears were James Honts, Eugene Davis, Orval Conard, Lee Honts,Don Franklin and John Blair. Mrs. Carl Wiley was solist, accompanied by Mrs. Albert Hall.
Mr. Honts was born near Wapello, December 29,1876, the son of Henry and Anna Jane Peifer Honts. He was married in 1896 to Roxie Gideon of Winfield.
Surviving are his wife and three sons, Charles of Independence, Fred and Harold of Winfield, five gradchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother Harry Honts of Morning Sun, several nephews and nieces.
A son and a brother who died in infancy died previously.
