DEATH OF MRS. HELPHREY

Suddenly Expires at her Home Saturday Evening of Heart Disease

The many friends of Mrs. Parrott Helphrey, who liced southeast of this city, were unexpressibly shocked Sunday morning to learn of her sudden and unexpected death at her home late Saturday night.

Mrs. Helphrey had been suffering for a number of years from rheumatism, but for the last six months had been almost free from the old trouble. Saturday afternoon she was in the city, and reached home on her return about 6:30. After a hearty supper, she sat down as usual and read and sewed until about ten o'clock, when she retired. Shortly after midnight her husband was awakened by the labored breathing of his wife. She did not respond to his questions, and considering her condition alarming he summoned the family. Before they could all reach the bed side Mrs. Helphrey was dead. Dr. Smith was at once sent for, but of course could do nothing. He pronounced the cause of death rheumatism of the heart. Mrs. Helphrey was about fifty five years of age, and the mother of six children, all now grown up. She was a most estimable lady, and will be mourned by a large circle of friends and relatives. The funeral will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. W. P. Nicholas officiating, from the residence northeast of town.
