OLDEST RESIDENT HERE IS TAKEN

Mrs. W. J. Hamilton was 97 in December

Mrs. William J. Hamilton, Mt. Pleasant's oldest resident died at her home here on East Madison street Sunday Morning at 3:30 after a few weeks illness. Mrs. Hamilton was 97 years old last December 8 and since the death of Mrs. M. M. VanSyoc recently had been Mt. Pleasant's oldest resident.

She had enjoyed good health until January of this year when she began to fall rather rapidly and had been bedfast.

Her only surviving blood relative is a nephew, Max Schaum, of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Lillian Hehner, who had resided with Mrs. Hamilton the last several years and cared for her is a stepdaughter and Thomas Hamilton of Burlington a stepson.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Cookes Funeral Home.
