Gertrude Warth
Gertrude L. Warth, 84, of the Danville Care Center, formerly of rural Mediapolis, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 1995, at the care center.
Born Aug. 25, 1911, in Washington, she was the daughter of Horace Elmore and Edna Hogue Brimhall. She married Lucian Warth on Nov. 21, 1936. He died Sept. 15, 1980.
Mrs. Warth was a graduate of Danville High School and the Burlington School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the Burlington hospital from 1964-1977.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mediapolis and the Mediapolis chapter of TTT.
Survivors include one daughter, Lucia Hoppenworth of Slater; three sons, Gary Warth of Mediapolis, Keith Warth of Wapello and Ed Warth of Iowa City; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Keith Brimhall of Mount Pleasant and Frank Brimhall of Danville; and two sisters, Amelia Jones and Thelma Kelly, both of Danville.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church in Mediapolis.
The funeral for Mrs. Warth will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis, is in charge of arrangements.
