MT. PLEASANT - Edward F. Gholson, 57, Mt. Pleasant, Rt. 4, died Sunday, Nov. 25, at Burlington Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 1, 1926, at Mt. Pleasant, to Omar L. and Elsie Erickson Gholson. He married Juanita(Blondie)Nau. Sept. 7, 1947, at Canton, Mo.

He had worked for 35 years as a construction foreman for the Henry County Roads Department and had also worked at the IAAP. He was an Army veteran of World War II in the Pacific theater, was a member of St. Michael Episcopal Church, the VFW, American Legion, and Moose.

Surviving: His wife; step-mother, Neva Gholson, Bloomfield; two sons, Robert L., Mt. Pleasant, and Dennis D., New London; a daughter, Mrs. Joe(Sue)Chiodo, Des Moines; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Dale(Vera)Aicher, Mrs. Vernon(Martha)Leeper, and Mrs. Leland(Dorothy) Robertson, all of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Michael Church, Dr. Louis Hasselmeyer; military rites at Oakland Mills Cemetery. Memorials have been established for his church and Oakland Mills Cemetery at Weir Funeral Home.
