Terri Hurlbut

Terri Ann Hurlbut, 37, of Columbus Junction, died suddenly Monday, March 14, 2005, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 23, 1967, in Moline, Ill., she was the daughter of Larry Dean Sr. and Janice Jean Jackson Heitmeier. On June 11, 1985, she married Rodney Leroy Hurlbut in Wapello. They later divorced.

Mrs. Hurlbut worked for several years as a CNA at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction and briefly worked at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

She was a 1986 graduate of Columbus High School. She lived in Columbus Junction most of her life. She enjoyed bingo, TV, crafts at the hospital, playing pool and darts and was an avid Tasmanian devil collector.

Survivors include two daughters, Heather and Amy, both of Columbus Junction; her mother of New London; three brothers, Raymond Heitmeier of New London, Larry Heitmeier of Mount Pleasant and Mike Heitmeier of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Tena Shumaker of Wayland and Tammy Heitmeier of Gladstone, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Hurlbut will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beatty Funeral Home, with Pastor Cathy Whitlatch officiating. Burial will be in Winfield-Scott Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
