Jorene Snyder Wood

Jorene A. Snyder Wood, 48, of Mount Union, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at her home.

Born April 27, 1958, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Jerry A. and Janice M. Seager Snyder. She married Robbie Crew. The couple later divorced. On March 6, 1987, she married Roger Wood in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Wood was a clerk for the Iowa State Liquor Store and later worked at Wal-Mart for five years. She lived most of her life in Henry County and attended Mount Pleasant High School. She attended Yarmouth Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, growing flowers, spending time in her garden and sewing.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Jennifer Crew of Burlington, Robin Crew, Heather Wood and Cierra Wood, all of Mount Union; two sons, Benjamin Wood and Austyn Wood, both of Mount Union; five grandchildren; her father of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Linda Snyder Feehan of Mount Pleasant; and three brothers, Jerry Snyder Jr. of Glendale, Ariz., and Bill Snyder and Jim Snyder, both of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her grandparents and one grandson.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Wood will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Hooks officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
