WILLIAM BROWN, 90, PASSES AWAY
Services Held at Trinity Church Saturday for Pioneer Farmer
William Brown, 90, and son of pioneers of Pleasant Grove community, passed away at the home of his son, Frank near Yarmouth, Wednesday night after conttacting pneumonia and being ill one week.
Mr. Brown not only was a pioneer himself but he was the son the earliest settlers in the Pleasant Grove community. He was born in the Pleasant Grove community September 4, 1849, the son of David and Elizabeth Gallagher Brown.
Funeral services were held at the Trinity church Saturday afternoon. They were in charge of the Rev. O.L. Allison, pastor of the Trinity circuit. The Reverend Meeker of the Yarmouth Methodist church preached the sermon. Burial was in Trinity cemetery.
Survivng are four sons, Frank E. Brown and Benton J. Brown, both of Yarmouth, William J. Brown of Mason City, Ia., and Charles H. Brown of Mt. Union; three sisters, Mrs. Antone Petzinger, Mrs. Ben Calloway, and Mrs. Anderson Darbyshire, all of New London, and one brother, Joseph L. Brown of Chandler, Okla.
