Veteus Aldrich

Veteus P. Aldrich, 97, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of the Mount Union and Burlington areas, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, in California.

Born Sept. 18, 1908, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of Otis Franklin and Edna Lenora "Nora" Lauer Myers. On July 22, 1926, she married George Rex Aldrich. He died Nov. 15, 1982.

Mrs. Aldrich worked for several years as a supervisor at National Research Co. in Burlington.

She was a graduate of Mount Union High School. She was a 50-year member of New London Eastern Star chapter 440.

Survivors include one son, Richard Aldrich of Riverside, Calif.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Stevens of Mount Pleasant; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. Inurnment will be in Trinity Cemetery near Mount Union.
