Frances Caldwell

Frances A. Caldwell, 95, of Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born August 1, 1908, near Yarmouth, she was the daughter of George and Amelia Glitsch Fye. On October 24, 1943, she married J. Carleton Caldwell in Nashua. Mr. Caldwell preceded her in death July 3, 1984.

Mrs. Caldwell was a longtime homemaker. She worked briefly at the Metromail Corporation and the Starlight Motel, both in Mount Pleasant.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant and United Methodist Women. Her hobbies included playing cards, gardening and quilting with her mother and sisters. She also belonged to a card club.

Survivors include 12 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, and several great great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral for Mrs. Caldwell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, rural Mount Union.

A memorial has been established and may be sent to First United Methodist Church or Park Place Long Term Care Unit.
