Cherie HILLS dies in hospital

Cherie Dawn HILLS, 16, Mount Union, died September 26 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, due to injuries she received in a car accident September 18 near Richland.

HILLS, daughter of Donald and Clara McDOWELL-HILLS, was born June 4, 1965, at Burlington.

She was a junior at Winfield-Mt. Union High School and a member of the student council there.

Survivors include her parents; brother, Jon HILLS of Mount Union; two sisters, Mrs. Michael (Carla) MORROW and Mrs. Orville (Beckey) KROGMEIER, both of Mount Pleasant; two nephews and two nieces.

Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home and internment in Columbus City Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Joseph Ricks of Brighton, guitarist and vocalist was Sara Hungate. Casketbearers were Mike McDOWELL, Pat McDOWELL, Joe McDOWELL, Mark McDOWELL, Tom McDOWELL and Donald Suiter. A memorial has been established, they can be deposited at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home.
