Iona Morse

Iona Geraldine Morse, 67, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of New London and Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born Aug. 7, 1938, in New London, she was the daughter of Roy and Esther Frances Carson Rice.

Ms. Morse was a homemaker.

She attended New London schools. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Allen Morse of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, Dale Rice of Florida and Robert Rice of Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The graveside service for Ms. Morse will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Long Creek Cemetery in rural Danville, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

A memorial has been established for her son's care.
