Harold Wolfe

Harold "Bob" Norman Wolfe, 77, of Danville, and formerly of New London died at 2:50 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005, at his residence.

Born January 3, 1928, in New London, he was the son of Fern and Cecile Courter Wolfe. On June 30, 1951, he married Dorothy Chesnut at Grace Methodist Church in Burlington.

He was a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Wolfe was an electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1987, and farmed at rural New London from 1958 to 1993.

He was a member of New London United Methodist Church where he also served as an usher and on the trustee board. He was the treasurer of I.B.E.W. Local 452 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, auctions, sports and spending time with his family-especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wolfe of Danville; three daughters, Roberta (Wesley) Pfadenhauer of Danville, Rebecca Hoyt of Middletown, and Kathy McClelland of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, Robert (Shawn) Wolfe of Alma, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, John Wolfe of Sperry and Jerry Wolfe of Burlington.

His parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Wolfe will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in rural Danville.

Memorials have been established for New London United Methodist Church and Hospice of Central Iowa.
