Paul Ellsworth White, 77, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of New London, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at his home.
Born March 25, 1928 in New London, he was the son of Lyle and Dorothy Billingsley Wellington White. On Oct. 4, 1948, he married Donna Jean Brentise in Burlington.
Mr. White owned White Electric and worked as an electrician for Mount Pleasant Electric. He retired from Midwest Biscuit as an electrician.
He was a graduate of New London High School. He was a Navy veteran stationed in California, where he worked as an electrician. He was of the Christian faith. He was a ham radio operator and enjoyed fishing. He was an avid roller skater and put on shows while in the Navy. He took his family to Kenny's Roller Rink every Saturday night for years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Linda Crawford of Centralia, Mo., Sharon Ritzo of LaBelle, Fla., and Debbie Gauthier of Ashland, Mo.; three sons, Terry White of Pacific, Wash., David White of Louisville, Texas, and Don White of Columbia; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy Stratton of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one son.
There will be no visitation. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.
The graveside service for Mr. White will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Burge Cemetery in New London, with Pastor Rod Cooper officiating.
A memorial has been established.
Elliott Chapel in New London is in charge of arrangements.
