Miss Clara McLeran died this morning at the Whaley Nursing Home after a short illness with pleurisy. She had been ill about one week and seemed to be on the road to recovery.

She was the daughter of James and Sarah Rummell McLeran. She was one of six children---James Marcus, Mary Florence (Mrs. H. T. Bird), Anna Margaret, Catherine, and Charles Elmer. She was the last of her family to survive.

Clara McLeran was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, December 27, 1859. Her 86th birthday will be December 27. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, P.E.O. Sisterhood, W.C.T.U. and a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at the Cookes Funeral Home at 10:00. Dr. George G. Hunt will be in charge of the service. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.

Several nieces and nephews survive her.
