J.W. McClaran Scraper Co. Veteran, Dies
Died June 24, 1940
James W. MacLaren 83 retired veteran employee of the former Western Wheeled Scraper Company now the Western-Austin died last night at his home 321 North Lake Street.
Born March 18, 1857 at Mount Pleasant, IA. He came to Aurora, IL when the Western Wheeled company was moved here from that state. He was in Charge of the Company’s exhibit at the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and received an award for his service there.
He is survived by on son, Merle F. of California, and one daughter Mrs. (Blanche)Harold H. Rosenberg of Homewood, Ill. Three granddaughters and two sisters Mrs.(Myra) W. F. Burnett, of Aurora and Mrs. (Hattie)William S Tate of Houston, Tex. A son Stanley G. proceeded him in Death.
Funeral services will be held at the Healy Chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Interment is Springlake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel.
