Mrs Ferdinand( Ethel) Schaefer,94 Route 3,Mt. Pleasant ,died Monday,June 11981 at the home of D.D.Millspaugh where she resided.
Born Dec 31 1886 at Rome,she was the daughter of WilliamS. and Mary Rivey Millspaugh. On March 1,1916 at Ottumwa she married J. Ferdinand Schaefer who died Jan.31 1976.

A retired teacher, Mrs. Schaefer taught in the Lockridge and Wayland areas. She was vice-preside
nt of her senior class and a graduate of the German College in 1909. She graduated with a B.S. degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1910. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and of the Rome Baptist Church.

Survivng are one brother, Roy C. Millspaugh of Ft. Myers Fla; one step grandson ,three great grandchildren.
Her parents,one son Max,three brothers and two sisters also preceeded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday June 5 at the Weir Funeral home,Mt . Pleasant. Dr. George E. LaMore will officiate with burial in Grant Cemetery at Rome.
Friends may call as they desire after 9 a.m Thursday at the funeral home.
