C. F. Anderson Funeral is Held

The memorial service for Charles F. Anderson was held at the Crane Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:00. Dr. .George G. Hunt, pastor of the First Methodist church, was the minister in charge. Mrs. Will McClaran sang “The Home of the Soul” and “Abide With Me”. Mrs. Dan Winter played the organ. Pallbearers were Lon Cantwell, William Gass, Paul Lyons, Herman Miller, Ben Nicholson, and Wesley Perkins. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery.

Charles Franklin Anderson, son of John W. and Elizabeth Fackler Anderson, was born February 6, 1869 at Winfield and passed from this life on January 5, 1949 at the Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. With the exception of a short time in the state of Nebraska, all of his years were spent in the county of his birth where he farmed for many years and then devoted his latter years to gardening.

On February 13, 1901, He married Nora L. Lee. She passed away on November 1, 1945.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Fern, of Winfield, and two brothers, Harry of Quincy, Illinois and Edwin of Elmhurst, Illinois. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Winfield.
