Wm. H. Vollmer Funeral Tuesday.

New London – William Henry Vollmer, 80, passed away at the hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Saturday morning at 9:30. He was born at Dodgeville, Ia., October 2, 1865, the son of Herman and Christina Vollmer.

On February 16, 1883, he married Carolina Miller who preceded him in death April 12, 1940. His entire life was spent in Henry and Des Moines counties. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist church. Surviving are the following children: Charley H. of Hillsboro; John W. and Harry H. of Burlington; Lloyd W. of Winfield; Mrs. Madie Peterson and Mrs. Murlie Smith of Mt. Pleasant. Also 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Herman Vollmer of Wapello.

Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from McDonald’s Funeral Home in New London. Rev. William Moore of Danville, retired Methodist minister, will officiate and burial will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
