Coletha Millard

Coletha "Coke" Millard, 86, of
Mt. Pleasant, died at 12:30 a.m.,
Monday (today), Aug. 18, at the
Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mt.
Pleasant.

She was born July 7, 1911, at
Canton, Ill., the daughter of John
and Lydia Lingenfelter Haynes. On
Oct. 8, 1930, she married Leo M.
Millard at Canton, Ill. He preceded
her in death on March 28, 1968.

She was a member of the Calvary
Baptist Church. She volunteered
with RSVP for many years. She
also managed the Oakland Mills
Store for many years and was a
nurse's aid at the Mt. Pleasant
Hospital and the Keosauqua Hospi-
tal. She and her husband farmed
west of Oakland Mills for 27 years,
until his death.

Survivors include: two sons,
Maurice of Mt. Pleasant, and
Fredrick of Holdenville, Okla.;
many grandchildren; great-grand-
children; and great-great-grandchil-
dren; one brother, Butler Haynes of
Mapleton, Ill.; two sisters, Abby
Simpkin of Mt. Pleasant; and Etta
Smith of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband; three sons,
Mahlon, Ira, and Thomas; three
grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m., Wednesday Aug. 20, at the
Calvary Baptist Church, with Pas-
tor Jeffrey Crawford officiating.
Burial will be in the Lamberth
Cemetery.

Friends may call at their conve-
nience, beginning at noon on Tues-
day, Aug. 19, at the Beatty Funeral
Home, Mt. Pleasant, where the
family will recieve friends from 7
p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials have been established
to the Calvary Baptist Church Li-
brary Fund or to the Lamberth
Cemetery.
