Julia A. Freyenberger, 85, of Wayland, died Sunday evening, Feb. 16, 2003, at the Parkview Home in Wayland.

Born Dec. 5, 1917, in Havre, she was the daughter of John and Martha Koelher Zieglowsky. She married William Freyenberger on Sept. 1, 1938, at St. Paul Evangelical Church in Washington.

Mrs. Freyenberger attended Havre School. She was a homemaker and also janitor at her church for 20 years.

She was a member of Eicher Immanuel Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school and was involved with the Eicher Women's Mission Society.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Jim Freyenberger of Wayland; two daughters, Evelyn Ruby of Stockport and Doris Aicher of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Ted Zieglowsky of Boston; one sister, Martha Witthoft of Washington; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Eicher Immanual Mennonite Church, northeast of Wayland.

The funeral for Mrs. Freyenberger will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Melvin Koehn officiating. Burial will be in the Eicher Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Parkview Home and the Eicher Music Fund.
