Lois Rohde 1929 - 2002

Lois A. Rohde, 72, of Salem, formerly of Trenton, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Washington County Hospital in Washington.

Born July 1, 1929, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Harry S. and Clara Anna Tschantz Stutzman. She married Harold Rohde on June 20, 1952, in Fairfield. He died Feb. 11, 1983.

Mrs. Rhode worked as a nurse's aide in Wayland, Washington and Mount Pleasant. She also worked at Champion, Sheaffer Pen, Iowa Ordnance Plant and retired from Motorola in Mount Pleasant.

She was a member of Green Mound Church of God and TOPS club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.

Survivors include two sons, Merlin Rohde of Panaca, Nev., and Jim Rohde of Olds; three daughters, Vicki Hodson and Cheryl Rohde, both of Mount Pleasant, and Michelle Norton of Salem; two brothers, Dale Stutzman of Lockridge and Denzel Stutzman of Florida; two sisters, Cleo Blocker of Florida and Velma Hamm of Mount Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Rohde will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Green Mound Church of God, west of Trenton, with the Revs. Dennis Kuhns and Ralph Draper officiating. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for her church.
