Lloyd Alliman 1903 - 2002

Lloyd F. Alliman, 99, of Mount Pleasant, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Jan. 16, 1903, in Noble, he was the son of Peter and Lydia Troyer Alliman. He married Anna Mae Wenger. She preceded him in death. He later married Hilda Opal Powers Wells on July 14, 1964, in Denver.

Mr. Alliman was a graduate of Wayland High School.

He was a long-time farmer in the Washington, Wayland and Mount Pleasant areas. For 20 years, he owned and operated two appliance stores in the Denver area. He had a long association with the Wayland Sale Barn, for which he bought and sold cattle.

He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Wayland and a member of Eagles Lodge in Fairfield and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant. He served on the School Board for the former Wayland School District and loved dancing, gardening and raise flowers.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Delores Abernathy of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Roger L. Alliman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one stepson, Jerry E. Wells of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Lydia Johnson of Bellevue, Wash.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Alliman will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 809 S. Walnut St., Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established for the Congregate Meals Program of Mount Pleasant Senior Citizens Center.
