Jeanette Leah Schlatter, 81, of Mount Pleasant, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born March 9, 1920, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Clark and Amellia Nichlos Zickefoose. She married Glenn Schlatter on April 10, 1947, in Mount Pleasant. Mrs. Schlatter was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the mission circles and enjoyed baby-sitting.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Helen Friest of Ratcliff; one son, John of Minneapolis; two sisters, Opal Trueblood of Portland, Ore., and Wilma Barton of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Schlatter will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with Pastor David Plooster officiating. Burial will be in Eicher Cemetery, northeast of Wayland.

A memorial has been established.
