Josephine Catherine Schrock, 78, of Wayland, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born July 23, 1923, southeast of Wayland, she was the daughter of Peter W. and Ema R. Graber Richard. She married Elmer Schrock on March 12, 1953, at the Sugar Creek Church.

Mrs. Schrock attended Flower Country School. She helped her husband in farming.

She was a lifetime member of Sugar Creek Church. She was involved with WMSE, taught Sunday school and led singing at Primetimers. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, flowers, gardening and decorating wedding cakes.

Survivors include her husband; one brother, Glen Richard of Mount Pleasant; and one sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.

The funeral for Mrs. Schrock will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Roger Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for MCC.
