Mrs. Clora Margaret Guernsey died April 11, 2001.
She was born March 10, 1924, at Wayland, Iowa, to Edward and Neva (Taylor) Knox.
She is survived by a son, Gregory Guernsey; a daugh-ter, Sonia (Guernsey) Miller; one sister, Marjorie (Knox) Timinski; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
She graduated from Mount Union Consolidated High School, Mount Union, Iowa, in 1941.
Until 1952, she worked in Burlington, Iowa, at the Ben Franklin Store, Hotel Burlington, Insurance Plan Savings & Loan, and Iowa Ordnance Plant.
Her marriage with Richard Guernsey (Army retired) lasted 47 years until his death in 1998. She accompanied her husband to Germany and seven states, settling in California in 1967.
She served as president of Burlington Professional Women's Club; member of Women's Clubs at Army posts; Cub Scout Den Mother in Fort Hood, Texas; bowler with Babenhausen, Germany, Bowling League; counselor/treasurer of Baha La Rova Campfire Girls District in California; volunteer for the Glen A. Wilson High School Instrumental Music Club and Friends of the Library, both in Hacienda Heights, Calif.; president/treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 75 in La Puente, Calif.; and president/treasurer/auditor of VFW Auxiliary Post 1944 in Industry, Calif.
She will be missed.
Interment will be April 18, 2001, with her husband in Riverside National Cemetery, California.
