ST. CHARLES — Elsie E. Schmidt, 92, of St. Charles, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Rosewood Health Care Center in St. Charles. She was born Oct. 8, 1912, in St. Charles, to John and Hulda Johnson.

In 1965, she was united in marriage to her husband, Andrew Schmidt. Elsie and her husband moved to Winfield, Iowa, where she lived for more than 10 years. After the death of her husband, she first moved to Arkansas and then back to St. Charles, where she has lived ever since.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of St. Charles, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Carl and Arthur "Burt" Johnson; two sisters, Helen Guzzino and Mabel Seeley; and a niece.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, April 16, until the funeral at 10 a.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., corner of Routes 64 and 25, St. Charles. Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Batavia.
