Wilbur H. Long, 85, died August 15,1997 at his rural Mount Pleasant home. Born August 19,1911 in Cairo, Iowa to John and Georgia (Gregory) Long, he married Evelyn Fullerton on August 19,1936 in rural Columbus Junction.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn; five children: Janice Faler of Columbus Junction; Richard Long of Little Rock, Ark; Phillip Long of Aurora, Colo; Jennifer Long of Mount Pleasant and Kevin Long of LaPorte City, Iowa; a sister, Mary Margaret Wallace of Wapello. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald; three sisters, Dorothy, Lucille, and Florence; and a grandson.
