Lester T. Deck, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 7:37 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29,1997 at Park Place Care Center, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He was born on June 10, 1916 in the Merrimac area of Henry County, the son of John F. & Clara A. (Trautman) Deck. On May 8, 1940, he married Catherine A. Tolander at Lancaster, MO. She survives. Also a daughter Mrs. Jery (Linda) Messer of Nichols, Iowa and two sons, Lester TG. Deck, Jr. of Naperville, Ill and H. Eugene Deck of New London. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Ardith Deck and Joy Schlatter. Two sisters Pauline Harris and Grace Shaffer and three brothers, Elmer, Harry and Carlton Deck.
