Bate Thomas Collins, 94, died September 24, 1997 at Washington County Hospital. He was born April 30, 1903 to William and Rose (Fetterman) Collins in Danville. He was educated in Henry County, Iowa. He married April 30, 1924 to Dorotha M. Trainor in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife Dorotha, a son William Colins, and two daughters Juanita Gauler and Debra Collins; a brother James; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
